One of Bollywood most famous actors, Salman Khan, was sentenced by a court in Jodhpur to 5 years in jail for poaching a protected species of animals on the endangered list.

Khan, 52, was found guilty of killing two blackbucks and an antelope while shooting the film Hum Saath Saath Hain in Rajasthan back in 1998.

The case has been ongoing for the last two decades, in 2006 he had already been sentenced to a 5-years jail term but then a high court in Rajasthan had suspended the sentence a year later until he was eventually acquitted in 2016.

But the superstar who’s appeared in more than 100 films and was ranked 71st highest paid actor in the world, has walked in and out of courts several other times for different reasons, being acquitted in all of them.

In 2005 he was acquitted of a hit and run he was accused of having committed in 2002, where he allegedly ran over some homeless people leaving one dead and four injured.

He was convicted for it in May 2015 but was eventually cleared for 7 of the charges seven months later as the judge said that the evidence was not reliable.

He took another walk towards the court yesterday and hasn’t seen the sunlight since.

Along with his prison sentence he was also fined RS. 10,000 for the crime.
