In an interview with The Atlantic published on Sunday, Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman, of Saudi Arabia recognised Israel’s right to exist, saying that the Israelis “have the right to have their own land”.

The Saudi Prince, commonly known as MbS, was the first de facto ruler of an Arab Country to recognise Israel’s right to exist.

“I believe that each people, anywhere has a right to live in their peaceful nation. I believe the Palestinians and the Israelis have the right to have their own land. But we have to have a peace agreement to assure the stability.”

At the very beginning of the interview, MbS was asked to talk about Islam and the role he thinks it should play around the world and he answered saying that Islam is a religion of peace and duty of a Muslim is to spread the word, but the “evil triangle” – referring to Iran, Muslim Brotherhood and the terrorists – are using it to try and build a “Muslim Empire”.

He said: “This mission is accomplished.”

“In every country it is possible to buy religious books. The message is delivered.”

He went on: “But the triangle of evil they want to manipulate Muslims to tell them their duty as Muslims requires the establishment of a Muslim Empire.”
In contrast with MbS’s statement, the Saudi state news services said on Tuesday that his father, King Salman stressed on the Palestinian rights during a call with American President Trump.

Last month, Saudi Arabia had already allowed a flight towards Israel to cross its airspace and many in the region now think the two countries have grown contacts.

When Goldberg asked him if this kind of patch up with Israel was caused by the situation with Iran, his response suggested that the common interests with Israel are rather economic based.

He said: “Israel is a big economy compared to their size and it’s a growing economy, and of course there are a lot of interests we share with Israel and the Gulf Cooperation Council countries and countries like Egypt and Jordan.”

During the interview MbS made a number of references to Iran, beginning by mentioning their “extremist Shiite ideology” of the “hidden Imam” to their social media block, but the most outstanding one was his opinion on Ayatollah Ali Khamenei which he believes “makes Hitler look good.”
