Terms & Conditions for Both Competitions

  1. Participants must be between 16 and 25 years of age.
  2. The theme of the competition is Faith, Identity and Belonging.
  3. Prize: £100 for first place, £50 for second place, £25 for third place for both competitions.
  4. Award ceremony for prize winners will be at in October 2018 (Date TBC).
  5. The word limit for the written submissions is a maximum of 500 – 1000 words.
  6. Profanity and hate speech will not be tolerated and will result in immediate disqualification. Examples include the following: swearing, racism, sexism and all other forms of discrimination.
  7. By entering this competition, you agree that your creative piece may be published to scribershive.com, and subsequently to be used by Paddington Arts or You Press for educational or marketing purposes, but not for commercial gain.
  8. One must be in contact with the You Press team ahead of submission if they do not want their work published on the platform.
  9. Only one photo will be allowed for submission in the Photography competition.
  10. Photographers must submit original photos in order to take part in the competition. Usage of other individual’s photos will result in immediate disqualification.
  11. No staff members of Paddington Arts or You Press or their close relatives can apply.
  12. The deadline for submissions is 5 p.m. on Friday 27th July 2018. No submissions will be considered after this date.
  13. This competition is a collaboration between  You Press and Paddington Arts. The project is funded by the Institute for Strategic Dialogue (ISD). ISD deals with tackling extremism and inter-communal violence through dialogue. This competition not only aims to share the ideas of unity and community cohesion, but to also educate others on the diversity we surround ourselves with.
