After almost nine years at Real Madrid, Cristiano Ronaldo has joined Juventus for a reported fee of £99.2m.

The 33-year-old leaves the European Champions being one of the top scorers in Club football.

In a statement issued to the Club’s official website, Ronaldo expressed his gratitude towards Los Blancos for his time at Madrid.

He thanked the fans as well as the members of staff and other players he worked with, stating his decision to move to the Italian giants being “a new stage” in his life.

Down in Turin, over the last couple of days even before the official announcement, Juventus’ market value has shot up.

The value has gone up by a significant €200m as it jumped from €600m to €800m in a matter of days.

The transfer came as shock to many as Ronaldo has been linked to every giant club for the last decade almost consistently.

The Portuguese captain has 573 goals and 180 assists to his name at club level.

One of the biggest assets in world football, Ronaldo has won everything at the top and is looking to start afresh with another titan.

At Juventus, he will be in the company of Paulo Dybala, Douglas Costa, Juan Cuadrado and Gonzalo Higuain.

Though the Turin club have acquired the best player in the world, they’ve also lost one of the best goalkeepers in the world as Gianluigi Buffon joined Paris Saint Germain a few days ago.

The 33-year-old has signed a contract up until 2022 as it looks like he’ll be retiring at the Italian club.

However, being at the age he is, Ronaldo hasn’t showed any signs of slowing down having been at the peak of his career for the last 10 years and always improving.

With five league titles and five Champions leagues under his belt, he is truly one of the greatest of all time.
