Airstrike Over a Wedding Party in Yemen

20 killed and many injured after an airstrike by the Saudi-led coalition hit a wedding party in northern Yemen.

Images from the bombing appeared on the social media, showing the devastating situation, after the third time this happened in the past week.

Most of the victims to this horrific attack appeared to be women and children who were together in a tent at the wedding party.

According to Khaled al-Nadhri, top health official in the province of Hajja, the bride was among the dead.

The groom and 45 of the wounded were brought to the local hospital, said the hospital chief, Mohamed al-Sawmali, and appealed for people to donate blood.

Some of the seriously injured people were children in critical condition, some of which, with severed limbs.

This was the third airstrike in the past week. The two previous ones killed a family of five, again in Hajja, and the other one, at least 20 civilians after a bus carrying commuters was bombed in the city of Taiz.

A report from the independent monitor Yemen Data Project recorded that one-third of all airstrikes, since the war started, have hit non-military targets. That led to the death of more than 10,000 civilians and the displaced of more than 3 million people.

While UN officials and right groups accused the coalition of committing war crimes, the Saudi-led coalition blames Houthis, saying they are using civilians as a human shields.

Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia, has faced a series of attacks by the Houthis, targeting the capital Riyadh and other cities.
