The Finsbury Park Mosque attack last June seemed to have been solved immediately until very recently when the perpetrator, Darren Osborne, was sentenced with a minimum of 43 years behind bars for the murder of Makram Ali and injury of 19 others.

During the month of Ramadan, Osborne ploughed through a crowd of worshippers with a Van at midnight outside the North London-based mosque.

51-year-old Makram Ali was the only one who died from this act of terror as Osborne intentionally ran over 20 innocent people.

After the hearing in court, Ali’s daughter, Ruzina Akhtar told the press of the innocence of her father, expanding on the plight of terror victims in the world we live in today.

“Our father, like the victims of most terrorism, was entirely innocent which makes his death in this violent way all the more hurtful,” she said outside of court.

Mr. Ali was said to have died immediately after collision with the Van, found with tire marks stained to his torso.

Many have come out in defence of Osborne, claiming that he is ‘mentally ill’ or that they were surprised that he would harm someone.

Despite this, Osborne has appeared in court on 33 different occasions for a recorded 102 offenses.

It is clear that what he did on the night in June was fully intentional of inflicting harm on others and is therefore indeed an act of terrorism.

In the weeks leading up to the attack, the trial discovered that Osborne had been obsessed with Muslims after watching a BBC Three show about the Rochdale grooming scandal.

Osborne had rented a van that had originally been purposed for a similar attack on Muslims during the Al Qud’s day march on 18th June.

Due to limited access to the march, the 48-year-old drove all the way to Finsbury Park Mosque to carry out his attack.

After the attack police found a letter in a van where Osborne referred to Muslims as “rapists” and “feral” after the events carried out by a small minority.

In order to stop “terrorism” Osborne turned out to be the terrorist himself by trying to kill innocent people with his politically fuelled ideology.

Yet another Islamophobe is brought to justice.
